Summer Specials Week!

We are basking in a heat wave here at Bronhaul Farm, and when the weather is like this, there is no better place to be. Who needs a Mediterranean holiday when you can enjoy temperatures of over 30 degrees on the Pembrokeshire coast! We were swimming in the sea at Skrinkle Haven, near Manorbier, yesterday. It was stunning!!  Saturday 20th - Saturday 27th July 2013 is Summer Special week here at Bronhaul! We want you fantastic people to have the chance to enjoy this beautiful part of the world too, while the sun is shining and before the craziness of the peak summer season begins!   We...

The ‘Coach House’ is Finished and Open for Business!

The artist’s impression has finally become a reality! Though it’s been a challenging and tiring project, Angie and Colin’s vision for this beautiful building has finally been realized. From the beautifully restored red brick archways and the preserved stonework and original wooden beams in the living room, the local history surrounding this building speaks from every wall.   We chose to name the ‘Coach House’ based on its original use as an accommodation for travellers on horseback or horse and cart. The ‘Coach House’ is one of the oldest buildings on the farm and consists...

We Are Now Taking Bookings!

Over the last few months Colin and his faithful team of builders have made really good progress with the two newly converted cottages. After much deliberation we have chosen to call them ‘Rock Cottage’ and ‘The Coach House’. Both cottages will retain many of the original features of the building and have both been designed to accomodate four people. These are some watercolour impressions of what the cottages will look like in a couple of weeks!      As well as the holiday cottages, we’ve also added a drying room and bike storage facility. We hope that this will help...

Another New Arrival!

Well, the seasons have certainly changed now! We had the first really deep frost this week. Thankfully it wasn't deep enough to freeze up the water supply...this time. This week we also had another (fairly unexpected) arrival. One of our goats had a kid at the start of the week. Goat and kid are doing really well and, as you can see, she is feeding quite happily.   We still have some availability for the start of December in both Bronhaul Bach and Ty Cuddfan. We are currently offering 40% off the advertised price for both cottages.   Bronhaul Bach: 3 nights - £157 £94 7...

The Piglets Have Arrived…Finally!

Much earlier in the year we introduced out boar to one of the sows. For a long time nothing happened. After a while we pretty much gave up on having any piglets this year. Thankfully, a few weeks ago our sow started to show signs that she might be carrying something. A few weeks later we had a litter of 9 piglets. With pigs it’s always a bit of a gamble as to how the sow will react. Some are great mothers and others will be useless. Luckily, this one’s great! The piglets are all very healthy and we have a real mix of spots, stripes and colours. Here are some photos....   Want...

November Sunsets

Over the last few weeks the seasons have certainly changed. In a matter of days the woods have completely changed colour. We’ve been spending most of our time preparing for the winter by chopping, splitting and stacking wood. With our new wood burning boiler system we are using three times as much wood as we were last year. It’s a real job to keep up! With the weather taking a turn for the worse and the nights drawing in it’s easy to let it get you down - but there are some positives... November is the best month of the year for sunsets. When you get a cold, crisp day without a cloud...
